Michelle Massey, MSW, LICSW is a Licensed Independant Clinical Social Worker and
Oncology Social Worker. She has spent many years working in medical social work at local hospitals and Cancer Pathways (formerly Gilda's Club Seattle). Understanding the medical system gives a unique perspective for patients, caregivers and providers who would like counseling.
Michelle has extensive CEU training in art therapy, psycho oncology and trauma.
We believe that therapy works best as a partnership and offer a collaborative approach. Life is a journey we will work together in a supportive environment to reach your goals. We promise to be there for you every step of the way. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, move forward and live your best life.

What Is the Live Your Life Program?
The Live Your Life program, offered by Massey Counseling and Wellness, is a community-based wellness program designed for children ages 5 and up who are affected by cancer or chronic medical illness. Children are affected by having a parent, family member or friend with cancer or a chronic medical illness. Our mission is to help children and families learn, connect with others and grow their community in ways that lessen symptoms of anxiety and depression caused by chronic medical conditions. We encourage participants to not only live with cancer and chronic illness but to truly live their lives to the fullest.

My approach is to work with you using a variety of psychotherapy and CBT techniques to create realistic goals that are sustainable for you and your family. We combine classic child/adolescent development, cognitive theories and trauma informed therapy to discover and reach desired goals. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a counseling treatment plan with you.
Medical Trauma & PTSD
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances including medical trauma. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and heal with resilience.
Relationships
Cancer, chronic illness, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety affect the whole family. Relationship counseling can be beneficial for individuals and families who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection.
